After you accumulate 250 points, you'll automatically get elevated to gold. Your gold status will remain active for the remainder of the current year and the next year. In order to be eligible for the following year, you must accumulate another 250 points in the next calendar year.

For example: You earn 250 points in 2017 so you automatically get gold status. You will remain a gold member for the remainder of 2017 and all throughout 2018. In order to be a gold member in 2019, you must accumulate 250 points in 2018.
